UNIT45 shows off its multimodal solutions in Munich

Stand 230, Hall B4

The Dutch 45ft container specialist UNIT45 will be well represented at the Transport Logistics Fair, being staged 12-15 June at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.

This German event is probably the biggest transport exhibition in Europe but UNIT45 is sure its presence will be noted by attendees given that it will have three 45ft containers in the outside exhibit area in addition to a 40m2 stand in Hall B4.

With rising transport costs and growing awareness of the environmental impact of road haulage on the environment, many companies are turning to the 45ft container as a means of utilising the many intermodal alternatives that exist, such as rail, barge and shortsea services. The 45ft container can move seamlessly between the different transport modes and offers almost identical loading capabilities when compared to standard 13.6m trailers. Unlike some 45ft container designs, UNIT45 containers feature special corner fittings that ensure their legality throughout the EU.

UNIT45 customers can choose whether to buy 45ft containers outright or take advantage of a variety of alternative packages from lease/purchase through to short-term rental.

UNIT45’s standard 45ft dry freight container offers an extremely low tare weight due primarily to the use of high strength/low weight materials in the construction process. The company also offers a wide variety of special containers, of which three examples will be on show in Munich.

The car carrier is a standard container fitted with a specially developed system that enables up to five standard family cars to be accommodated in complete security.

The bulk container is designed to transport powders and granules. Depending on the commodity, these units can be loaded and unloaded in different ways using pneumatic or gravity systems.

UNIT 45 is also showing a diesel-electric reefer container, capable of loading 33 pallets. These units are already being carried successfully by rail between the Benelux and Italy using the diesel generator while relying on an external electrical power supply when being moved by ship or truck.

UNIT45 sales engineers will be available on Stand 230, Hall B4 to explain these three containers in detail and to provide information on other containers in the UNIT45 range, including the dry freight unit, available in a variety of configurations, a curtain-sided unit that allows cargo to be loaded from the side, and the all-electric reefer container.
